Conceived as an homage to the unending will of Detroiters to soldier on, The Climb first appeared on the east facade of 71 Garfield in Detroit's historic Sugar Hill District for Dlectricity 2012, "Detroit's Festival of Art and Light."  The performance takes inspiration from silent film stars Harold Lloyd and Buster Keaton.
